With 20 years of experience in entertainment, traditional advertising, and production, Jay Brooker is a highly accomplished Producer and Creative Executive. Globally he has led the production of premium, award-winning content, IP creation, product development, and new media.
Most recently Jay led Content Development at BUCK, a 500 person animation studio with offices in LA, NYC, Sydney, and Amsterdam. During his tenure as BUCK’s Head of Content Development, Brooker oversaw the studio’s expansion into the traditional entertainment space and creation of original IP with a focus on animated series, film, and games. Highlights included creating work for Netflix, HBO Max, and Apple, and receiving an Emmy Award for the studio’s work on Netflix’s ‘We The People’ series. Brooker also oversaw the creation and implementation of BUCK’s TV/Film slate, and the internal educational and experimental incubator Story Lab, a program designed to get BUCK’s talent exposed to the processes of story creation and production of longform animation. Under Brooker’s leadership BUCK also developed and published their first gaming title Let’s! Revolution!, which premiered at Game Developer’s Conference Media Indie Exchange showcase.
Previously, Jay worked as the Head of Content Creation at CAA Marketing, a division of Creative Artists Agency. During his time at CAA he specialized in building brands through the power of entertainment.
His expertise spans all facets of content creation including financing, partner selection, talent negotiation, physical production, post-production, and distribution. This applies to all major verticals within the traditional entertainment and advertising industries.
Jay’s multi-disciplinary work has received numerous awards including Daytime Emmy Awards, Cannes Grand Prix Lions, Annie Awards, D&AD, TED Ads Worth Spreading, The Webby Awards, Clio Awards, AICP Awards, Art Director's Club, One Show Entertainment, Communication Arts, and TIME Magazine's Best Ads of the Decade. His work is also featured in the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
He currently lives in Venice, CA.
